NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Katie Sullivan loves Halloween. At this year’s 10th annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, her new magic broom just may be both “trick” and “a treat”.
The 2010 season has been an up and down year for the CleanBoost® Nano-Sheen, MotoWear, Girls For A Change Pro Stock Motorcycle team. Extensive testing and trying to maximize the most out of their resources as a family-run operation, has only toughened her and the team up. “We have gone as far as we can with our current motor combination. We definitely worked really hard and tried everything we could, but we finally realized that in order to be extremely competitive, we needed to work some magic.” Sullivan said.
The team has completely revamped the “Zebra-Zilla” Suzuki, and this weekend she’ll have plenty of help dialing it in. “I am excited about our new setup,” stated Sullivan. “I’m doing much better with my lights and shifting, and we’ve been very consistent with our runs, we just need more power. We have received tons of support from those in our class who want to see us succeed and get to the next level, so I am excited.” The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway holds a special place in Katie Sullivan’s heart. It was here where just two years ago she made it her plan to ride professionally. Katie happily admits she “loves this track!”
The goal this weekend will be to get some solid data and input from the bike, since it will be her first time driving with the new setup. With a minimum of four runs this weekend, and four runs at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, CA, the team hopes to brew up the right combination of two-wheeled magic heading to the 2011 season.
