GEICO Powersports racer Karen Stoffer had various issues surrounding her team this weekend. She chased parts problems during qualifying and in the first round Monday against Steve Johnson, Stoffer jumped the start by -.007 seconds.
“That right lane felt like it had a bit of a voodoo curse on it; the first three bikes in that lane all red-lit,” Stoffer said. “We did our thing, but we were off on the tune up too.
“We learned some lessons this weekend. We had a lot of gremlins this weekend and we feel like we figured out one of them going into Charlotte. The mood is up because the bike goes straight. We feel like going into Charlotte we can keep the bike going straight down the racetrack without any issues.”
Stoffer is eighth in the standings and trails Johnson by 61 points.
