He reached the semifinals of Sunday’s Fall National at the Texas Motorplex, but it wasn’t enough to keep Matt Smith’s Al-Anabi Racing V-Twin in contention for NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle championship.
Smith, who began eliminations from the No. 1 position, defeated Redell Harris in the first round with a 6.972-second, 187.26-mph come-front-behind effort to a 7.100 at 185.18. He had a bye run in the second round and lost to Andrew Hines, 6.988 at 186.46 to 6.979 at 186.59.
“It wasn’t too bad of a weekend for us, but our performance is still behind that of the Harleys and Suzukis. We did run better than we have, but the way I look at it, we are racing for third or fourth place against Eddie Krawiec.”
Smith is fourth with 2248 points, 16 behind Krawiec, with three of the Countdown to 1 playoff races remaining.
