Drag racing star Rickey Gadson is the newest member of the 2Wheel Tuner Magazine staff, joining the team as Contributing Editor, Drag Racing.
The formal announcement was made this week during the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, where Gadson was on hand to co-host the magazine’s VIP party on Friday night.
Gadson is the winningest rider in the AMA Dragbike Series and an eight-time world champion. He currently competes in the Pro Street class, riding the ZX-14 for Kawasaki. After a decade as a factory rider for the manufacturer, Gadson has become one of the best-recognized names in drag racing.
“We’re very happy to welcome Rickey to our team,” says 2Wheel Tuner Publisher Sarah Timleck. “He’s really an icon in our industry, and he has a very clear vision for giving drag racing a voice in the magazine.”
“I see the direction that the magazine is heading in and I like it; it’s not focused on one area,” says Gadson of his decision to join 2Wheel Tuner. “I want to see the motorcycle industry grow in general, and seems like 2WT is reaching out and touching the right people to make that happen. Sarah is so energetic and makes things happen, and that’s me. I’ve been asked by other magazines to do things with them, but I wanted to be involved with a magazine that wants the same thing as me: to make the motorcycle industry grow.”
