Angie McBride may not be a household name, but she is determined to change all of that in the upcoming season. Teaming up with the 2007 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion at the end of last year, McBride has her sights set high going into Gainesville this weekend.
McBride set the world on fire last year as she qualified under very difficult conditions into a very fast field with just one run. McBride qualified the Champ’s second Buell at the season ending World Finals in Pomona, Calif. after never even making a full pass aboard the bike before.
“I am thrilled to have this opportunity,” said McBride. “Matt has worked very hard to get not only his bike, but mine as well to where they need to be in order to win this year. We are still looking for a sponsor for my bike, so as of right now I am only running a few races this year therefore I have to make the most of my time at the track. We have one goal for my bike this weekend and that is to win.”
McBride has won many races and many championships in other racing sanctions aboard a motorcycle and now she has her sights set on the big leagues, the NHRA. With Matt Smith as a teammate and a crew chief, McBride should be one to watch out for this weekend at the Gatornationals.
