Top Fuel veteran Chris Hand will undergo lower back surgery on Friday July, 22nd.
The procedure will likely cause the pilot of the “Redneck Express” to miss the remainder of the season. Hand remains optimistic and is not ruling out a return in late in the year.
“I won’t know for sure about the future until after the surgery,” Hand said. “The neuro guy tells me I should be at least as good as six-and-a-half decades will allow.”
Hand is coming off a Top Fuel victory at the ManCup’s June race in Rockingham, N.C. It was Hand’s first event win since 2009.
Cycledrag.com wishes Hand a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
