Mark Your Calendars: August 23-25, 2024 – The XDA Returns to Virginia Motorsports Park!
The XDA is set to bring the thunder back to the glass-like drag strip at Virginia Motorsports Park for the 6th annual FuelTech Bike Bash. This highly anticipated event promises to be a weekend of high-octane action, where the best in motorcycle drag racing gather to battle it out on one of the most pristine surfaces in the sport.
With only two events remaining in the season, the stakes have never been higher. Racers are gearing up to push their machines—and themselves—to the absolute limit in the hunt for those all-important championship points. The pressure is on, and every race matters. You can expect nothing less than heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat action that will keep you and your family on the edge of excitement all weekend long.
Adding to the thrill, the fan-favorite ATV Invitational Shootout is back, showcasing incredible 4-second, custom-built ATVs that appear as wild as they are fierce on the track. These wickedly powerful machines promise a spectacle of speed and sound, making this a must-see event for racing enthusiasts of all ages.
Orient Express Racing Pro Street
The Orient Express Pro Street class is where the raw power and fierce competition truly ignite, showcasing motorcycles that boast an unbelievable 650+ horsepower. These aren’t just machines—they’re the baddest street tire motorcycles on the planet, and XDA unites them for a no-holds-barred showdown.
These turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous-injected monsters tear down the quarter-mile strip at jaw-dropping speeds, blasting past 230 mph and completing the run in a blistering 6 seconds flat. The sheer intensity of these races leaves the crowd breathless.
Rodney Williford commands the class with 362 points, but hot on his heels are DME Racing teammates Mark Rendeluk and Jason Dunigan, both sitting just 60 points behind, tied for second place.
Dunigan’s recent win has set the stage for an all-out battle next weekend, where he and Rendeluk have a shot at seizing the championship lead. But it won’t be easy. Will it be possible? Maybe. Williford hasn’t been knocked out in the first round since last year’s DME Racing Fall Nationals. But if any of the fierce class competitors can topple him in round one, it’ll be up to Dunigan and Rendeluk to capitalize on the opportunity, fight their way to the top, and snatch the championship lead with just one event left on the calendar.
The Pro Street Warriors are also gunning for a coveted spot at the 28th annual Haltech World Cup Finals, presented by Wiseco Import vs. Domestic, at Maryland International Raceway from October 30 – November 3, 2024. XDA’s top ten finishers will earn the right to compete in front of a massive crowd of over 50,000 fans and vie for the $5,000 Pro Street Shootout prize, sponsored by Platinum General Services.
And for those eyeing that WCF invite, the pressure is on as the #10 bump spot is perilously close. They’ll need to win rounds next weekend to secure their place at the season’s final showdown, the DME Racing Fall Nationals on October 4-6, at MIR.
Whether you’re a seasoned racing enthusiast or new to the adrenaline-fueled world of drag racing, the Orient Express Pro Street class delivers relentless action and unforgettable moments. Don’t miss your chance to witness these incredible machines’ unmatched power and precision.
DME Racing Real Street
The DME Racing Real Street class features street-legal bikes with limited modifications, including a hand clutch. These bikes reach speeds up to 190 mph and run 7-second passes, exemplifying the blend of power and precision that defines this class. The Real Street captures the essence of street racing while adhering to strict regulations that ensure safety and fairness.
David Fondon is the current leader and the rider to beat. Any of the top five riders in points can potentially take the lead this weekend, but only if Fondon is eliminated in the first round. Those riders included David Stewart, Rickey Gadson, Jason Iannotti, and Courtlan Whiting.
Also, the Harleys have shown up this year, consistently dropping mid 7-second passes at each event. Their presence has added a thrilling new dimension to the competition, and many are wondering if this weekend will be the turning point. Could we witness history in the making with a Harley claiming the first-ever victory in Real Street? The anticipation is palpable, and with the way these bikes have been performing, it’s not just a possibility—it’s a very real threat to the established frontrunners. All eyes will be on the Harleys as they challenge the status quo and aim for the top spot.
The championship battle hinges on preventing Fondon from securing an unassailable lead, promising a showdown of epic proportions next weekend. With intense competition and high stakes, the upcoming event is set to be a must-watch for all racing enthusiasts.
MaxxECU Pro Xtreme: Big, Loud, and Unstoppable
If you like your motorcycles big and loud, the eighth-mile heads-up class of MaxxECU Pro Xtreme is the one you will want to watch. This class features Turbocharged, Supercharged, and nitrous-injected wheelie-bar beasts that roar down the track with unparalleled power.
Currently, the class is led by UK racer Dale Leeks, with Rob Garcia hot on his heels, preparing for an epic showdown. These racers handle ferocious amounts of horsepower, guiding their bikes to the 660-foot finish line with precision and control.
Come out to VMP and witness the incredible spectacle of MaxxECU Pro Xtreme. The sheer power and skill on display will leave you on the edge of your seat as these monstrous machines tear down the track.
MaxxECU Pro Xtreme is presented by Billy Vose Racing, Fast by Gast, DME Racing, Dunigan Racing, Grothus Dragbikes, Harley Haul, Rob Bush Motorsports, Robinson Industries, Schnitz Racing, Timblin Chassis, and Worldwide Bearings.
HTP Performance Super Stock: A Showdown for the Ages
The HTP Performance Super Stock class is set for a dramatic showdown this weekend, where the battle for supremacy will be decided by who can best tame the clutch and the competition. Jeremy Teasley holds a commanding lead in the points standings, with a 106-point advantage over #2 Jimmy Leach and a 145-point margin over #3 Mike Davis. But in racing, nothing is ever guaranteed.
Leach remains the only contender with a shot at dethroning Teasley, but the odds are steep. To take the lead, Leach would need to clinch the win and hope that Teasley gets knocked out in the very first round—a scenario that would send shockwaves through the pits. The pressure is on, and while Teasley might seem untouchable, in this sport, a single mistake can change everything.
What makes the Super Stock class so intense is its strict adherence to rules that keep the playing field level. Racers must work with a stock wheelbase, stock motor, MR12 spec fuel, and without the technological crutches of air shifters or dataloggers. This is pure, unfiltered racing where skill and precision are the only keys to victory. There’s no room for error, and every twist of the throttle could be the difference between victory and defeat.
As the racers line up this weekend, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Will Teasley maintain his dominance, or will Leach pull off an upset for the ages? One thing is certain: this is a race you won’t want to miss.
Vance & Hines 4.60 Index: The World’s Quickest Motorcycle Index Class

Known globally as the fastest index class, these racers bring raw intensity and cutthroat action to every event. The battlefield is set for the eighth mile, where only the fiercest will survive.
Current points leader Ronald Procopio has dominated the scene as the reigning champion for four straight years. Heading into the FuelTech Bike Bash, Procopio holds a narrow eighteen-point lead over the relentless #2 Mac McAdams, with Kenny Cornell and Eran Pielert hot on their heels, fifty-two and seventy-three points behind, respectively. Jimmy Shifflett rounds out the top five, trailing by ninety-one points, but in this high-stakes arena, anything can happen.
With Procopio wearing the crown, every competitor is locked and loaded, aiming to knock him out in the first round and shake up the standings. This is more than just a race; it’s a war of speed and skill, where legends rise, and dreams are shattered on the asphalt. The Vance & Hines 4.60 is the ultimate proving ground, where passion and power collide in a spectacle that defines the very essence of this adrenaline-fueled sport.
