Every September Midwest motorcycle drag racing tradition and the world’s biggest drag sled race collide to produce an exciting and enjoyable late Summer event at Martin, Michigan’s US 131 Motorsports Park known as the Super Sled Shootout / Dash for the Cash.
The Dash for Cash moniker comes from an event the late Tim Mills started in Indiana at Muncie Dragway in the late-eighties. The race was wildly popular and for the past four years the drag bike portion of the US 131 event has been dedicated to his memory and legacy.
Coverage brought to you by the fine folks at Schnitz Racing and Bellman Oil.
On the sled side, as bigtime supporter Jamie Bellman from Bellman Oil put it, “This is our Super Bowl.”
Sled racers from all over the United States and Canada have come to compete.
There are multiple categories for the sleds and motorcycles with big money being paid out to the winners.
Race coverage dedicated to the memory of a wonderful man, talented racer and longtime Schnitz Racing employee Kevin Williams who tragically passed away last weekend at Muncie Dragway in a racing accident. A moment of silence was had for Williams during pre-race ceremonies and there was a special 50/50 drawing to benefit his family. Godspeed Kevin.
