It was a debut we had all been waiting for.
One of the worst kept secrets over the off-season was the Vance & Hines Pro Stock Motorcycle team had chosen 29-year-old Gaige Herrera as its next rider to fill the vacancy on its two-bike team.
The official announcement came in late January.
The scouting report on Herrera grades him in highly in almost every category. Herrera most recently excelled in the no-bar Pro Street class and earlier in his career, he cemented a legacy in California as one of the best pure riders to come out of the state.
Many insiders have said Herrera greatly impressed the V&H team with his riding ability at the end of the 2022 season.
At his first pre-season test session Herrera was as impressive and skilled as advertised, running a best 6.69 on the V&H Gen 2 Hayabusa and then jumped right on the new Gen 3 and took it to a 6.71.
Clearly Herrera will be tough to beat and it seems V&H made a great choice. As you will see in the video below, the only thing that may need some work is Herrera’s Super Bowl predictions.
