Man Cup, together with South Georgia Motorsports Park canceled the MTC Nationals due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“The last five weeks have been unprecedented times for all of us” stated Man Cup Principal Jay Regan. “We were hoping to be able to begin the 2020 ManCup season at SGMP May 1st – 3rd , but the country is just not ready to do so.”
It’s the second consecutive Man Cup event that has been cancelled.
“Absolutely devastated that we will not be hosting the MTC Nationals at SGMP this year, I had planned to give away some additional Sportsman and ET bonus $$$ monies like I did at last year’s MTC Nationals” added MTC Engineering owner and event sponsor Eric Hochstetler. “We here at MTC Engineering just can’t wait for racers to be able to get back to the sport they love so dear!”.
Nelson and Marla Hoyos, the management team that provides all the record-setting numbers at SGMP were informed by state officials that the current “stay-in-place” order in Georgia has been extended until May 13th which forced the hands of SGMP and Man Cup to cancel the event. “Track owner Ozzy (Moya), my wife Marla, and I now will turn our attention to providing Man Cup racers an even better record-setting SGMP experience in November at the World Finals” SGMP GM Nelson Hoyos added.
