Flying Flea, the new EV brand from Royal Enfield, and artist Mattia Biagi today unveiled their groundbreaking collaboration at Salon Del Mobile, Milan. The unique art piece, dubbed Motototem, represents not only a landmark in art and mobility, but celebrates the spirit of creativity, innovation and sustainability that runs deep within the Flying Flea brand.

Created in collaboration with Mattia, Flying Flea and Royal Enfield’s Custom World, each material chosen has a purpose beyond just aesthetics but connecting the motorcycle to nature in elegant, beautiful fashion.
Retaining the timeless silhouette of the Flying Flea FF.C6, itself inspired by the original Flying Flea motorcycle of the 1940s, the intricate details found throughout Motototem each play a part in the story. Starting at the front, the original handlebar grips are replaced with unique bronze pieces conveying the artist’s fingerprint – this is also carried into the footpegs, heightening the tactile elements already present in the FF.C6.
Where once an LED head and tail light was found, there are now intricate hand-blown glass sculptures, the high temperatures and delicate production process of which represents the beauty found in overcoming challenges.
Moving to the tank, still sunk within the forged aluminum frame as in the FF.C6, this hand-crafted piece is made entirely of travertine. This stone is traditionally found around mineral springs, offering a distinctive texture with which to pay homage to the original Flying Flea. Expertly sculpted to emulate the flowing contours of a parachute, this evocative piece pays tribute to those lightweight, nimble airborne Flying Flea’s thrown from aircraft in the 1940s and pressed into service behind enemy lines.
The fenders feature leaves cast in clear resin, symbolizing new life, growth, and renewal. Just as the front seamlessly integrates with the FF.C6’s unique girder fork suspension, the rear piece incorporates a solid walnut seat, replacing the original design with this premium natural material that adds warmth and organic texture to the riding position.
These girder forks also house hand-moulded clay pieces, playfully nodding to fork guards found in scramblers such as the upcoming FF.S6 model. Also found acting as a belt guard at the rear, these organic shapes and hues represent the sprouting of new ideas like flowers.
Embellishing the FF.C6’s magnesium battery case, itself an exercise in organic design with its fins representing a seamless meeting of past and future, a black stone piece speaks to the design principle of utilising raw materials as with the forged aluminium frame.

Rounding out this journey are the tyres, emblazoned with hand-made leather swallows to represent homecoming, loyalty and the spirit of adventure. The use of off-road tyres is no accident, but to emphasise a bold journey into uncharted paths.
Mario Alvisi, Chief Growth Officer, Electric Vehicles, Royal Enfield added, “We have admired Mattia’s work for a long time and it was a natural choice to work with him on the first ever art piece from our all new brand Flying Flea. The unique combination of authentic style and cutting edge technology found in the new FF-C6 inspired him to create ‘Motototem’, and we are all truly blown away by the beauty, depth and inimitable style of this piece of art. Flying Flea is not just an electric motorcycle brand, but aims to be a creative platform that electrifies and inspires people all over the world. To collaborate globally with teams in India, United Kingdom, Los Angeles and Milan to create something that champions lightness, sophistication and sustainability is a perfect representation of what Flying Flea stands for.”
Salone del Mobile, also known as Milan Design Week, provides the ideal platform for Motototem’s global debut, bringing together the world’s most innovative designers and creative minds.
The unveiling of Motototem in Milan marks just the beginning of its journey. Following the event, Flying Flea and Mattia Biagi plan to showcase the concept at events and venues to be announced throughout 2025.
THE TECHNOLOGY BENEATH THE ART
While Motototem celebrates natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship, it’s built upon the groundbreaking FF.C6 motorbike. Developed at the Flying Flea Tech Center by over 200 engineers across India and the UK who have filed more than 40 patent applications, the FF.C6 features an in-house operating system powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon QWM2290 processor. This high-performance chipset enables seamless connectivity and intelligent ride management through an interactive true round TFT cluster, with features like voice-assisted navigation enhancing both convenience and safety.
The production FF.C6 combines hardware and software innovations that define a new City+ mobility experience. With multi-modal connectivity, riders can interact with the motorcycle via a smartwatch and connected app for keyless operation, ride mode customisation, and remote diagnostics. At the heart of this ecosystem, the in-house developed Vehicle Control Unit integrates thousands of ride mode combinations, dynamically adapting performance parameters to deliver an intelligent, connected ride experience.
