In this video we dive deep into electric drag racing and see the new overall elapsed time electric drag racing world record set by Denmark’s Hans-Henrick Thomsen and his electric drag bike “Silver Lightning” at Santa Pod Raceway In Wellingborough, England in September of 2020.
The run of 6.87 backed up with a 6.86 takes out the 8 year old electric world record of legend Larry “Spiderman” McBride who ran a 6.94 at 201.37 mph in May of 2012 at Virginia Motorsports Park on a Lawless Industries / Orange County Choppers Electric drag bike. McBride and fellow American, electric dragster racer Steve Huff are tied for the overall world record in the speed category with a blazing 201.37 pass.
In this video we also see NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Star Angelle Sampey take the new Harley Live Wire down the drag strip to an elapsed time of 11.15 at 110mph at the U.S. Nationals from Indianapolis, Ind. Clearly electric drag racing is here to stay. We explores electric drag racing vs. gas / nitro from a fan’s perspective and ask for you opinion and input on this matter.
