As he prepares to ride into the Stampede of Speed at this weekend’s NHRA Texas FallNationals at Texas Motorplex, Pro Stock Motorcycle standout Chris Bostick is determined to finish the season strong aboard his Surf Signature RV Resorts Suzuki. He achieved his personal best speed, 199.12 mph, at this event last year and he’s eager to return to the site of his previous success.
With only three races left in the season, competition in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series is heating up. Bostick is a contender in the Countdown to the Championship, NHRA’s version of the playoffs, and he’s eager to turn on some win lights this weekend.
Bostick has been celebrating the “fastest days in Texas” all week, including making an appearance at the Stars of Texas music festival. As Grammy-award-winning country music group Lady A performed on stage, Bostick joined Billy Meyer, the owner of Texas Motorplex, and more than 10,000 fellow attendees in launching sky lanterns into the night.
“The lantern experience was the perfect way to kick off the Stampede of Speed,” explained Bostick. “It was truly a spiritual experience, being surrounded by the positive intentions and prayers of so many people. I was incredibly moved. We are bringing all of those good vibes with us into the race. Last year, we performed well and I can’t wait to put on a good show for these incredible Texas fans.”
The NHRA Texas FallNationals is a part of the 10-day long Stampede of Speed, full of thrilling high-speed action. Bostick and Phillips will be on hand to sign autographs and take selfies at the Fan Fest in downtown Waxahachie tonight from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Racing action for the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will begin on Friday, October 11 with qualifying sessions at 4:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Qualifying will continue on Saturday, October 12 with sessions at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Final eliminations are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13.
