It did not take long for legendary NHRA announcer Alan Reinhart to find a new gig after announcing his departure from the NHRA after 30 seasons of announcing.
Reinhart, known for his decades of experience as one of the most recognizable announcers in the sport, has taken on a new role as the Vice President of Racing Operations for the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA).
In his new position, Reinhart will take on responsibilities that extend beyond the announcer’s booth. Working alongside IHRA President Rich Schaefer, one of his primary tasks will be establishing event schedules. Additionally, Reinhart will act as a liaison for professional teams, collaborate with track operators and stakeholders, and play a leadership role in shaping policies and procedures.
“I’m looking forward to a new challenge,” Reinhart said. “I was with NHRA for a long time, and it was an adventure for 30-plus years going to all the races. The opportunity to take on this new venture at a management level, it was time for a change.”
It’s another big announcement by the IHRA in 2025. Please join us in wishing the best of luck to Reinhart.
