One of the nicest men you could ever meet at the motorcycle drag races was Rich Regan, brother of Man Cup owner Jay Regan. Rich could be often found at the man Cup registration trailer, eager to assist customers in any way. Cycledrag is saddened to learn of Rich’s sudden and unexpected passing. Please extend thoughts and prayers to the Regan during this difficult time.
No matter what craziness was going down at the races Rich was always a soothing gentleman, there to help out his family’s organization in anyway. He was always good for a laugh and a great guy to get lost in a conversation over sports with. Rich was a tremendous asset to Man Cup, and more importantly a wonderful man to have around. He will be missed.
On Facebook Jay Regan wrote, “Today is a very sad day for my family. My Brother Rich passed away from cardiac arrest. He was just 64 years old. His heart abruptly stopped Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving while at his condo in Clearwater where our Mom lives. He felt fine, no complaints or anything, it just hit him like a bolt of lightning. Thankfully, Mom was right there and immediately called 911 for an ambulance. He fought hard for his life these last ten days at Morton Plant hospital but ultimately succumbed this morning. Rich never married and had no children. Fortunately, our brother Todd was able to get here from Colorado and he, I, my Mom as well as my sons Travis and Adam were all able to say our goodbyes to him on our own terms. Rich joins our Dad and our Sister Rindi in heaven. He now will have the best seat in the house to watch his beloved Chiefs every Sunday. RIP Rich, we all miss you terribly already!”
After a successful career, Rich, originally from Newtown, Conn. retired from the state in 2016.
Along with his brother Jay, Rich is survived by his mother Alyce Regan Dorey 91, brother Todd Regan 57 and five nephews.
Godspeed Rich. We will miss you.
