After a quick turnaround, Team Arana heads to Virginia for the Virginia NHRA Nationals, the fifth round of the 2018 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship.
Virginia Motorsports Park plays host the the NHRA circuit for the first time in nine years and it’s the first time since 1998 that the Pro Stock Motorcycle class has visited the facility. The opportunity to race at a venue that is new to most of the class is exciting to the team.
“Every race is fun but to go to a track for the first time is extra special,” said Hector Arana Jr. “The Pro Stock Motorcycle class hasn’t raced here in two decades and it will be the first time many in attendance this weekend will see us race in person. Hopefully we’ll be able to run 200 mph again with the Lucas Oil Racing TV EBR and put on a good show for the fans.”
Hector Arana Sr. is looking forward to the challenge and the 2009 Pro Stock Motorcycle champion is hoping his experience will pay off. “It will be interesting to see who figures the track out first since most in the field haven’t raced here before,” said Arana Sr. “Hopefully we’ll be the ones and we can put the Lucas Oil EBR in victory lane.”
The Virginia NHRA Nationals begin on Friday, June 8th with two days of qualifying and final eliminations on Sunday, June 10. For tickets and information, visit NHRA.com or www.virginiamotorsports.com and catch all of the action on Fox Sports 1.
